Urology

Our urology outpatient clinic provides complete diagnostic and treatment services for disorders of the genitourinary system.

Main types of diseases:
- Disorders of the kidneys that have non-internal medical origin
- Ureter problems
- Disorders of the urinary bladder and urethra
- Disorders of the testicles, epididymis and seminal vesicle
- Prostate abnormalities

Prostate disorders
If problems with the passing of urine occur, prostatic hyperplasia is worth considering and it is worth seeing a urology specialist.
Typical symproms are:
- Frequent and urgent need to urinate
- Difficulty passing urine, possibly inability to urinate
- Intermittent urination
- Dribbling at the end of urination
In case of an acute inflammation of the prostate gland, fever, chills, perineal and low-back pain, pain radiating to the testicles may occur. Symptoms of the chronic inflammation however are not so remarkable and obvious. The inflammation may be caused for example by sexually transmitted bacteria (therefore frequent partner change is a definite risk factor), urinary tract infection, but in several cases no pathogen can be detected. Even the slightest complaint is an indication for specialist consultation, primarily to exclude malignacies.

Urinary bladder inflammation
Urinary bladder inflammation is one of the most common urologic disease. In spite of the common belief this disease is not caused by cold but by pathogens that have entered the urinary bladder. It is most frequently caused by bacteria, mainly by intestinal bacteria, among which E Coli can be mentioned primarily. Patients mainly complain of feeling of regular, colicky urge to urinate without being able to pass urine, or they pass only a few drops of urine accompaied by vigorous burning, stinging pain. In advanced cases occasional blood in urine episodes may occur. If the infection is not limited to the bladder area, but as an ascending inflammation affects the kidneys as well, fever and great prostration will also occur.
